Meet Jocelyn, an experienced RMT committed to providing person-centered care and specialized in addressing persistent pain
A bit about myself.
Hello! I’m Jocelyn Kirton (she/her), and I have been a Registered Massage Therapist since 2013. Here’s a bit about my professional and personal background.
I would say that my practice revolves around person-centered care. I enjoy working closely with my clients, putting together treatment plans that address concerns and works towards facilitating goals.
During my nearly 10 years as an RMT I have taken a special interest in serving persistent pain populations. My educational and practical experiences have given me the unique opportunity to incorporate a modern approach to persistent pain management into my practice.
In addition to persistent pain management, I have interests in:
I am passionate about providing education and interventions from a collaborative approach. I strive to empower people seeking care, so they can self-manage when away from the clinic.
Other interests & info.
In addition to my hands-on practice, I also play a role in the massage therapy profession by educating other RMTs.
In particular I teach about the positive effect the massage therapy profession can have for people dealing with abdominal and pelvic pain that is evidence-based and above all, safe.
Outside of the world of massage therapy, I enjoy exploring Vancouver Island with my dog, as we’re both new residents in Victoria! I also enjoy powerlifting, cycling, and eating good food.
